Use Sound Words

MEDITATION

Use Sound Words

Titus 2:8 "Use sound words that cannot be criticized, so that your enemies may be put to shame by not having anything bad to say about us."GNB

Point to ponder on: Sound words are  products of sound mind. Deliberately feed your mind with life producing words. The way you use words reveals the content of your character.

The universe didn't exist without spoken words. Everyday communication thrives on the use of words. Emotions are stirred up through words, it could be stirred positively or negatively. Whether spoken or written we use words on daily basis. Research indicates the following statistics about the number of words women and men speak: The average woman speaks 20,000 words a day. The average man speaks 7,000 words a day.(Dated Feb 22, 2013, no new discovery yet apart from this)
Research also shows that, in one lifetime, the average person speaks the equivalent of the entire text of the complete 20-volume Oxford English Dictionary (OED) more than 14.5 times. So 860.3 million words certainly sounds like a lot in one-lifetime.

However, if approximately 860.3 million words are used in a lifetime, could they be regarded as sound words. We are admonished as believers to use sound words that cannot be criticized. The reason is that there are those who are waiting to trap us by the words of our mouth. Religious people and Jews set trap for Jesus waiting for what He would say but the master always used sound words, hence, it was impossible for His enemies to trap Him. With all their efforts they were put to shame. There are those around us who are watching and waiting to hear us talk and criticize us but we must choose the excellent way building our vocabularies using the scriptures as our guide. We must also I understand that people hear differently, so when we choose sound words that build up, represent truth and are godly we would give no room for people to say bad things against us and the body of Christ that we belong. Use sound words to glorify God, edify people, correct the erring ones and encourage the brokenhearted.

Good morning. Enjoy a fabulous day.

I celebrate you.

David, Johnson
