Worthy Friendship

MEDITATION

Worthy Friendship

1Samuel 20:17 "And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself." NIV

Point to ponder on: Real friendship is a true heart of commitment in love and selflessness.

Where is that friend so dear to the heart and would give all to defend another? Where is that ally who forgets himself and puts you first? Does friendship still exist or we only co-exist and relate because of benefits in order to meet our intellectual, financial, social, spiritual needs, just to mention a few? Can we think of someone we truly love and we can't express why we do so? We admire people around us with gifts, talents, great personalities and qualities. Sometimes we consider the positives and negatives and cleverly make our choices to avoid error and even at that do we stand for that special person we call a friend when the Chips are down. The kind of love that existed between David and Jonathan was so deep and inseparable. Both were ready to defend each other regardless of the circumstance. Friendship like this seems to have lost its place in our society today, but I believe we can still lead a friendship like this because we have what it takes especially the believers in Christ because the Holy Spirit within us can make it happen if we give him the chance to love through our heart and spread it within our society. We need to build the pillar of real and true friendship in the body of Christ and set examples for others in the world. We can do it, let's get it started.

Good morning. Enjoy His peace.

I celebrate you.

David, Johnson
