MEDITATION
Deal Gently
James 1:20 "For the anger of man works not the righteousness of God." kjv2k
Point to ponder on: Human method doesn't earn God's righteousness. God's method is different from man's method.
Seeing people doing the opposite of what could be considered as righteousness could upset a person with the right spirit. The rate of evil in our world today is alarming and atrocities committed on daily basis are disturbing and provoking. A person with the right spirit will detest sinful acts and most times the people involved, but being angry with them doesn't change their attitude or stop them from sinning. A person with the right spirit won't condone unrighteousness, however, we must deal gently with such people around us that are sinners or backsliders. It is right not to condone unrighteous acts but we must realise our target is to deal with the sin in people and not to condemn the people. The truth is that while we deal with what seems unacceptable as a moral standard scripturally we must ensure our action doesn't lead us to sinning while trying to restore others.
It is wise for those who usually get so hash on others to remember this scripture, " My friends, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right but you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too." (Galatians 6:1-GNB) The method is to deal gently and not to be hash with anger because that will not bring about the righteousness of God. Correct in love, focus on the problem, do it God's way-deal gently, and ensure you too are standing well so that you don't become a victim of the problem you are trying to solve.
Is there any around you in wrongdoing, deal with them gently and trust God for their restoration.
Good morning. Enjoy His grace.
I celebrate you.
David, Johnson
