Scriptural Sensibility On Choosing Friends(1)

MEDITATION

Scriptural Sensibility On Choosing Friends(1)

Proverbs 12:26 "The righteous chooses his friends carefully: but the way of the wicked leads them astray." kjv2k

Point to ponder on: A believer must be scripturally guarded in choosing friends of like mind.

It is a popular assertion that friendship is by choice and not by force. We talk about brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, but little is discussed about friendship in the Church. Of a truth, you cannot make all believers your friends but you will always have them as brothers and sisters in the LORD. Any believer that wants to end well with Christ must choose friends carefully because the path of unbelievers(the wicked) lead them to destruction.

So how do we scripturally become sensible in choosing friends:

1. Make yourself a friendly person if you desire to make friends. "A man that has friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother." Pro 18:24-kjv2k

2.Purity of heart and gracious speech attract highly placed people to be your friend. "He that loves pureness of heart and has grace on his lips, the king shall be his friend." Pro 22:11-kjv2k

3. Make no friendship with an angry person. "Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall not go." Pro 22:24-kjv2k

4.Make friends with people who will tell you the truth even though it hurts."Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Pro. 27:6 -kjv2k

5.Make friends with those who are always willing to counsel and share what they know from the heart to help you. "Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so does the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel." Pro 27:9 -kjv2k

Good morning. Enjoy His grace.

I celebrate you.
